Purl Adoption Advisory’s Services for 2025
Purl advisors, including CEO and licensed attorney Katie Zimmerman, help prospective adoptive families navigate the domestic adoption journey and connect adoptive families with resources so they can be a better parent to their child through adoption after placement. As of 2025, we have helped over 200 families throughout their adoption processes, with many of our Purl families returning for assistance on a second (and even third) domestic adoption.  We have also guided numerous families through the embryo adoption process and designed hundreds of domestic adoption and embryo adoption profiles.
What We Do
We are not a licensed agency and we do not match adoptive parents with expectant parents. We are advisors that help families better understand and navigate the adoption process so that all involved, the expectant/birth parents, the adoptive parents and the adoptee, all have better adoption experiences. Most of our families match and adopt more quickly than they would have without our support because we are connecting them to the best licensed adoption professionals for their journey. These families are also more prepared to adopt when chosen by an expectant parent.
How do we do this? We offer consultations/coaching sessions to prospective adoptive families at any stage of the adoption process. We help families get started with the journey, identify licensed professionals in their area for their home study and educate them on the circumstances we often see expectant parents facing when making an adoption plan. We educate on open adoption and help prospective adoptive families overcome fears of co-parenting to be prepared for open adoption relationships that are healthy for an adoptee. We can also help families who are later in their adoption journey, already home study approved and looking to rejuvenate or jump start an adoption process that has taken inordinately long.
We help families understand what impact their adoption preferences have on their journey, and help families be more prepared for the nuances of adopting outside their own race or ethnicity. We also help families navigate some of the circumstances seen in domestic adoption, including drug and alcohol exposure in utero, mental health considerations, incarceration of an expectant parent, and an unplanned pregnancy due to rape, and the involvement of the state’s foster care system.
Current Pricing
In 2025, our services are all consultation based, with the initial Coaching/Consultation ($750) consisting of one, two-hour call or two, one-hour calls and includes Purl’s proprietary and all-inclusive Adoptive Parent Guidebook. If additional consultations are desired after the initial 2 hour consultaiton, they will be offered at $300/hour, and can be used at any stage of the adoption journey, or post adoption. All Purl Families will have access to our live and recorded monthly group coaching calls, where we have brought in guest speakers from the adoption triad to speak on their experience in adoption and to offer helpful support to adoptive parents and their children. To date, we have more than 60 recorded educational videos for Purl Families, assisting with navigating the adoption process and continuing through parenting a child through adoption.
Profile Design Services
We will also continue to offer our beautiful, dynamic profile designs in 2025. Most adoption profiles we create are 16 page booklet-style profile books, but we also offer designs of 4, 8, 12 pages respectively at costs ranging between $450 and $850, depending on the length selected. We are able to offer these gorgeous profile designs quickly and much less expesively than most adoption profile design companies because we use a template-style format, offering adoptive families 17 different styles to choose from for their adoption profile. We can typically design an adoption profile within 2 weeks from the point a prospectie adoptive family uplooads their profile photos and completes their text outline. Families who choose this service will receive a PDF eProfile, a print-ready PDF profile, and one printed proof printed at our recommended printer. Families will be responsible for cost of printing any other hard copy profiles (typically about $250 for 15 printed profiles). For more information on our profiles, click here.
